Product Overview

Compliance tracking, covenant monitoring, and counterparty management

Portfolio compliance and counterparty management platform. Built by Proceptio, the team behind data infrastructure for IKEA and Baillie Gifford.

Platform

What CapitalBridge replaces

CapitalBridge replaces spreadsheet-based compliance tracking for investment funds that manage borrower reporting requirements. The platform automates submission scheduling, covenant monitoring with early breach warnings, and provides a self-service portal where counterparties submit documents and financial data directly.

Submission Tracking

27 reporting types, automated from assignment to escalation

Every reporting requirement has a type, a frequency, a due date calculation, and an escalation chain. The system creates pending submissions automatically, tracks their lifecycle, and escalates through seven tiers when deadlines pass. See the full guide to DFI reporting requirements for details on all 27 types.

90-Day Lookahead Scheduling

A daily background job scans all active assignments, looks 90 days ahead, and creates pending submissions with calculated due dates. Due dates are computed as PeriodEndDate plus a configurable DueDays value per reporting type. No manual intervention required.

If a borrower's fiscal year ends in December and AFS is due within 120 days, the system creates a pending AFS submission on October 1 with a due date of April 30. The counterparty sees it immediately in their portal.

Submission State Machine

ReworkRequired
loops back to Submitted on resubmission
Computed state: Overdue = DueDate < Now AND (Pending OR ReworkRequired)

7-Tier Automated Escalation

Escalation Timeline
T1
7 days before due Reminder to counterparty
T2
On due date Due today notification
T3
1 day overdue First overdue alert
T4
3 days overdue Second overdue alert
T5
7 days overdue Escalation warning
T6
14 days overdue Escalation to management
T7
30 days overdue Final notice

Each tier has configurable recipients and email templates. The escalation trail becomes audit evidence for regulatory review.

Assignment Engine

Cascading 4-tier assignment system

Reporting requirements and covenants are assigned at four scope levels. The most specific scope wins. One fund-level rule can apply to 50 borrowers, while a borrower-level exception exempts a single company from one requirement. No duplication, no manual overrides.

4-Tier Scope Resolution

Scope 0
Fund Applies to all borrowers in fund
Scope 1
Sector Overrides fund defaults for sector
Scope 2
SubSector Further specialization within sector
Scope 3
Borrower Most specific. Overrides everything above.
Assignment Cascade Example
Fund: AATIF inherits
AFS QMA CC
Sector: Energy adds
SEMR SEIR
SubSector: Solar DIC overrides
FM
Borrower: Meridian Holdings excludes + adds
SEIR IsActive=false + CR
Exclusion Pattern

Setting IsActive=false at Borrower scope exempts that borrower from any inherited assignment. No need to delete the parent rule.

Preview System

Before creating an assignment, the system shows how many borrowers will be affected. You see the impact before committing.

Immediately Active

Assignments are active the moment they are created. The daily background job picks them up and creates submissions from them automatically.

Covenant Monitoring

Threshold engine with headroom tracking

Each covenant has a configurable threshold, comparison operator (>=, <=, >, <, =, !=), and headroom percentage. The system calculates three health states and warns before breaches happen. Read more in our complete guide to covenant monitoring.

Covenant Health Monitor
DSCR AtRisk
1.35x
Threshold: 1.25x, Headroom: 10%
92% of threshold consumed. Inside headroom zone.
ICR Compliant
2.8x
Threshold: 2.0x
Comfortable margin above threshold.
LTV Breached
85%
Threshold: 80%
Threshold exceeded. Covenant breach.

Cascading Covenant Assignments

Covenants use the same 4-tier scope system as reporting requirements. Set DSCR >= 1.25x at the fund level. Override to DSCR >= 1.5x for a high-risk sector. Exclude a specific borrower that has a waiver.

Covenants are FormMetric records from any IsCovenant=true group. This means any financial metric collected through the form system can become a monitored covenant with threshold enforcement.

Standard Covenant Types

Counterparty Portal

Self-service portal for borrowers

Counterparties log in to their own portal, see exactly what is due, upload documents, submit financial data, and track their compliance score. No more email chains asking for status updates.

Borrower Portal: Compliance Score

Analytics

Dashboards, matrices, and portfolio analytics

Four views that replace the spreadsheets fund managers currently use to track compliance across portfolios. See the full product page for details.

Tracker Matrix

Submission status at a glance

Grid view of submission status per requirement per reporting period. One borrower, one fiscal year. Sections grouped by frequency: Annual, Quarterly, Monthly. Color-coded cells show Pending, Submitted, Approved, Overdue status instantly.

This is not a prototype. CapitalBridge runs real fund operations for Cygnum Capital, processing submissions, monitoring covenants, and sending automated reminders every day. Read the technical case study for the full engineering story.

Built by Proceptio

The team behind the platform

CapitalBridge was built by Proceptio, a software development team that builds data infrastructure for institutional clients like IKEA and Baillie Gifford. We understand fund operations because we build the systems that run them.

The engineering capabilities behind CapitalBridge (cascading rule engines, multi-currency financial calculations, real-time monitoring dashboards, automated workflow orchestration, enterprise security) apply to any operational workflow your organization needs automated.

If you need capabilities beyond what CapitalBridge covers, we build those too.
