Borrower Reporting Software

Borrowers stop emailing. They submit.

Borrower reporting software gives portfolio counterparties their own portal: every deadline, every requirement, every prior submission, every compliance score. They see what is due, upload documents or fill structured forms, and track their own status. The fund team stops chasing. Production-proven across 191+ counterparties in 23 countries.

Why It Works

Borrowers do not want to chase you either

Most fund managers assume their borrowers will resist a portal. The opposite is true. Borrowers hate not knowing what is required, when it is required, and whether they are in good standing. A self-service portal removes the friction. The borrower logs in, sees the picture, submits, moves on. CapitalBridge customers consistently see ~80% drop in inbound "what do you need from me?" emails after the borrower portal goes live.

  • No training needed; first-session submissions are typical
  • Borrower-side reminders match fund-side reminders, no confusion
  • Compliance score gives borrowers something to optimize for
  • Documents arrive in the right format, with the right metadata
From a head of operations

"We thought borrowers would push back on the portal. They asked when the next features would ship. They want fewer emails as much as we do."

Three Submission Paths

Meet borrowers where they are

1

Portal-native

Borrower logs in, sees deadlines, opens a structured form, types in financial data, attaches supporting documents, submits. Default for most borrowers. Lowest friction.

2

Excel ingestion

Borrower already maintains a quarterly reporting workbook. Drop the file into the portal. CapitalBridge auto-detects schema, maps columns, surfaces confidence scores, commits clean data. Borrower keeps their workflow; data lands structured.

3

ERP direct sync

For sophisticated borrowers running NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP. CapitalBridge pulls financial data directly from the ERP on a scheduled cadence. Submission becomes near-zero effort: borrower reviews + approves the auto-prepared submission.

Capabilities

Production-grade borrower reporting

27 standard reporting types

AFS, QMA, CC, FCC, DSRA, ESAP, SEMR, SEIR, PAR30, PAR90, INS, BUDGET, FM, OR, TR, plus fund-specific types (AATIF, NDER, IMR, ESLR). Custom types added during configuration. No "we do not support that" conversations.

Cascading assignment rules

Set default reporting requirements at portfolio level, override at sector or sub-sector, override again at individual borrower. New borrowers automatically inherit. Most specific scope wins.

Multi-currency native

156 currencies, daily spot + forward rate sync, automatic USD conversion for consolidated reporting. Borrowers report in local currency; fund sees consolidated USD; auditors see both. Frontier-market currencies fully supported.

Compliance score per borrower

Each borrower sees their personal compliance score (70% weight on reporting timeliness, 30% on form completeness). Gives borrowers something to optimize for. Drives behaviour without nagging.

7-tier reminder cadence

Reminders fire at -7d, due, +1d, +3d, +7d, +14d, +30d. Each tier widens the recipient list. Polite at first, escalating gradually. Borrowers stay informed without feeling spammed.

In Production

What the borrower actually sees

Their own score, their own deadlines, and the same answer whether they read the portal or ask about it directly.

The borrower's view

Their own score, not a fund spreadsheet

A borrower logs in to one number they can improve, not an email asking what is outstanding. The score updates the moment a submission lands.

What is borrower reporting software?+

A platform that lets fund borrowers submit required financial and compliance data directly, rather than by email and spreadsheet. The borrower logs into a portal, sees their reporting deadlines, uploads documents or fills structured forms, and tracks their own compliance status. CapitalBridge is used in production by 7 funds and 191+ counterparties.

How does a borrower self-service portal reduce fund manager workload?+

It removes the email-chasing cycle that consumes most compliance team time. Instead of the fund manager emailing each borrower with what is due and when, borrowers log in and see exactly what is required. Most CapitalBridge customers report roughly an 80% reduction in inbound "what do you need from me?" emails after rollout.

Can borrowers submit without using the portal?+

Yes, three paths: the borrower portal (default, fastest), Excel/CSV upload of the borrower's existing spreadsheet (auto-detected and mapped), or ERP direct sync (an optional professional service pulling financials from NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or a custom system). Most borrowers start on the portal and some move to Excel ingestion or ERP sync as they mature.

Do borrowers need training to use the portal?+

No. Login, see what is due, click an item, upload or fill, submit. CapitalBridge sends a per-borrower onboarding email with a short walkthrough video, and in production most borrowers complete their first submission in their first session with no support call.
